Directions to Second Street Gallery from DC
(2 hours) and points North:

Take I 66 to exit 43A toward Gainesville/Warrenton, Rte. 29 South. Follow 29 South from 1.5 hours until outskirts of Charlottesville. Exit onto the bypass, Rte. 250 East towards Historic Downtown Charlottesville. Exit right off of 250E at McIntire Drive, turning right, towards downtown. At the third light (Lewis and Clark statue intersection), take a hard left onto Water Street. Go three blocks and the City Center for Contemporary Arts is a modern, silver metal building on the left at 2nd Street SE and Water Street. Park at nearby parking garages, or south two blocks for street parking.

The downtown pedestrian mall will be on your left. Go about 3 blocks on Water Street and you will see the City Center for Contemporary Arts on your left, at the corner of Water and Second Streets. This is a silver, modern building and Second Street Gallery is on the ground floor. You can park directly across from the gallery in either the outdoor parking lot ($2/hour) or the parking garage adjacent to this lot.

Directions to Second Street Gallery from Richmond 1 hour) and points East:

Take I 64 West towards Charlottesville, approximately 70 miles. Take exit 121, VA-20, towards Charlottesville/Scottsville. Turn right, then stay straight to go onto Monticello Ave. Turn right onto 2nd Street SE. At the end of three blocks will be the City Center for Contemporary Arts, a modern, silver metal building on the corner of 2nd Street SE and Water Street. Park at nearby parking garages, or south on Water Street for street parkingt.

From points West:

Take I 64 East towards Richmond. Take exit 120 toward 5th Street, Charlottesville. Turn left onto 6th Street Extended, which becomes 5th Street SW, then stay straight to go onto Ridge Street. At a 5-road intersection (the Lewis and Clark statue intersection), take slight right onto Water Street. Go three blocks and the City Center for Contemporary Arts is a modern, silver metal building on the left at 2nd Street SE and Water Street. Park at nearby parking garages, or south two blocks for street parking..
